Digital Design Engineer
Position Overview
We are seeking a Digital Design Engineer to support digital system design work within a structured and regulated engineering environment. In this role, you will contribute across the full engineering lifecycle — from initial design development through review, approval, and implementation — while ensuring compliance with established engineering standards and change control processes.
This position includes participation in a formal engineering mentorship program designed to build the technical expertise, procedural knowledge, and leadership skills needed to independently perform Responsible Engineer duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve in the role of Responsible Engineer for assigned digital design packages in accordance with established engineering design processes
- Develop, review, and maintain digital design documentation including calculations, drawings, and technical specifications
- Lead and facilitate stakeholder design reviews, technical discussions, and resolution of review comments
- Manage and drive designs through engineering change and technical approval processes
- Support engineering change packages through implementation, including coordination with operations, testing, and commissioning teams
- Ensure all engineering deliverables meet quality, safety, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with senior engineers, mentors, and cross-functional teams to build technical proficiency and assume increasing responsibility
- Provide technical support during field implementation, testing, and troubleshooting activities as needed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
- Ability to work within structured engineering processes and formal documentation requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly present technical information to stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple engineering tasks and priorities simultaneously
- Willingness to learn and develop within a structured engineering mentorship program
Qualifications
- Experience in controls, automation, or digital systems engineering
- Exposure to or project experience with FPGA technology
- Familiarity with regulated or highly controlled engineering environments
- Experience supporting engineering design changes through approval and implementation phases
