Diesel Mechanic
Vehicle Maintenance Department
Full-Time | Day Shift | Monday–Friday | Weekends Off
Are you a hands-on Diesel Mechanic who takes pride in keeping essential vehicles and equipment operating safely and reliably? We are seeking a motivated and dependable Diesel Mechanic to join our Vehicle Maintenance team. This position plays a key role in inspecting, maintaining, and repairing diesel trucks, generators, and motorized equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Schedule
- Monday – Friday
- 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Weekends off (Saturday & Sunday)
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, and repair diesel trucks, generators, and motorized equipment
- Perform basic welding and fabrication tasks
- Adjust, repair, and maintain truck bodies, lifts, and related equipment
- Respond to urgent or emergency repair needs both onsite and in the field
- Operate trucks for snow removal, including plowing and sanding, when required
- Create and manage work orders, including tracking parts, repairs, and completion status
- Review invoices and verify the accuracy of external repair work
- Coordinate maintenance schedules with internal teams and outside vendors
- Perform inventory tracking and assist with parts management
- Inspect and repair emergency generators
- Learn maintenance requirements for new vehicles and equipment
- Perform other related maintenance duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Completion of vocational or trade school training in diesel repair is
- Experience as a diesel mechanic in one or more of the following environments:

- Fleet maintenance
- Construction equipment repair
- Trucking or transportation operations
- Equipment repair services
- Equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience will be considered
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office
Skills & Abilities
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and safety standards
- Ability to respond to emergency repair situations
- Organized and capable of maintaining accurate maintenance records
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, and working with tools
- Ability to work in shop and outdoor environments
- Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination required
Work Environment
- Exposure to mechanical equipment, moving parts, and shop tools
- Work performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Exposure to noise, vibration, fumes, and mechanical hazards
- Safety equipment and procedures are provided and required
