Diesel Mechanic Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair, particularly with diesel engines, and will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of vehicles, including tractor-trailers. This role requires a keen understanding of schematics and the ability to work with hydraulics and HVAC systems. The Diesel Mechanic will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our fleet.


Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including brake repair and alignment.
  • Assemble and disassemble engine components as needed for repairs.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics and technical manuals.
  • Conduct inspections on vehicles to identify potential issues before they become serious problems.
  • Repair or replace defective parts, including hydraulic systems and HVAC components.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed on each vehicle.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs.
  • Adhere to safety protocols while performing heavy lifting and working with tools.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or in a similar role within an automotive dealership or repair shop.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engine components and systems, including hydraulics and HVAC.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics for troubleshooting purposes.
  • Proficient in brake repair, alignment, and general automotive repair techniques.
  • Physical capability to perform heavy lifting as required by the job duties.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to work effectively within a team environment.
