JOB DESCRIPTION:
Hercules Machinery Corporation is seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining our high-performance pile driving equipment and heavy-duty construction rental equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems, with a hands-on ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Repairing and Maintaining Mechanical Equipment
- Repair and replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts such as pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings.
- Examine equipment to determine the extent of damage or malfunctions.
- Inspect mechanical equipment to locate damage, defects, or wear.
- Service equipment to maintain functionality.
- Test and adjust repaired systems to meet manufacturers' performance specifications.
- Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups.
- Maintain and lubricate parts or components.
- Assemble electromechanical or hydraulic systems.
- Operate newly repaired machinery or equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.
- Record repairs and maintenance performed.
- Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors.
- Rewire electrical or electronic systems.
- Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potentially troublesome areas.
TOOLS:
This position does require the use of various tools. The ability to provide and use your own tools for field service work is a plus. Familiarity with a broad range of diagnostic and repair tools is essential.
POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
- This is a full-time position. Normal hours are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Friday.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma (required)
- College or Technical certificates ( Diesel Mechanic, Hydraulic, Heavy Equipment)
- Two to five years of related experience
