Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled and dependable Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, and electrical systems.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, and other diesel-powered machinery.
- Use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot engine and system issues.
- Repair or replace defective parts, including engines, turbochargers, fuel injectors, pumps, and wiring.
- Conduct safety checks and ensure equipment complies with DOT and OSHA standards.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance performed.
- Keep shop area organized, clean, and compliant with safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED; technical school or certification in diesel technology .
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or in a related mechanical role.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
- Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and repair tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders.
- Valid driver’s license (CDL but not required).
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work in various environments (indoor/outdoor).
