Job Title: Doors, Frames, and Hardware (DFH) Project Manager

Location: Austin TX

Reports To: Operations Manager / Senior Project Manager

Job Type: Full-Time | Exempt


Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Project Manager/Sr. Project Manager to lead projects in the Doors, Frames, and Hardware (DFH) trade. This role requires hands-on experience in managing commercial door and hardware packages from takeoff through closeout. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of architectural specifications, strong coordination skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining accuracy, budget, and schedule.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage DFH projects from contract award through completion, including submittals, procurement, installation coordination, and closeout.
  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, and hardware schedules to perform accurate takeoffs and verify scope.
  • Coordinate with general contractors, architects, vendors, and field personnel to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Prepare and manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, and shop drawings.
  • Order and track material shipments to meet project deadlines and avoid delays.
  • Resolve jobsite and coordination issues promptly to keep projects on schedule.
  • Conduct site visits as needed to support installation teams and ensure quality.
  • Maintain clear and timely communication with stakeholders throughout the life of each project.
  • Work with accounting to manage billing, job costing, and change management documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and project specifications.


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience managing commercial DFH projects.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial door, frame, and hardware systems and installation methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
  • Experience working with Division 8 specifications and submittals.
  • Excellent organization, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills with clients, vendors, and internal teams.


Qualifications:

  • Experience with Comsense or other DFH-specific software.
  • AHC (Architectural Hardware Consultant) or CDC (Certified Door Consultant) certification is a plus.
  • OSHA 30 Certification .
  • Experience managing multiple jobs simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
