DevOps and QA Engineering Lead \n\n£72,000 - £78,000 + Amazing benefits package including Bonuses and Share incentives \n Hybrid working - 2+ days a week in their London offices\n\nOur client is a Global FTSE 250 organisation undergoing a major transformation under a new CIO. We are seeking an experienced DevOps & QA Engineering Lead to drive the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of DevOps and Quality Assurance practices across a complex digital and technology landscape.\n\nThis is a people management role focused on increasing automation, improving software quality, and enhancing collaboration across engineering teams, while establishing best-in-class tooling and delivery practices.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLeadership & Strategy\n\nDefine and implement the DevOps and QA strategy across the full software development lifecycle\nCommunicate vision, standards, and best practices aligned to broader organisational goals\nLead, motivate, and develop a team of DevOps and QA engineers DevOps & Tooling\n\nIntroduce, optimise, and manage modern DevOps tooling (CI/CD, version control, build automation, containerisation)\nDrive automation and efficiency across engineering and release processes\nContinuously improve DevOps maturity and ways of working Quality Assurance\n\nDevelop and implement QA strategies, frameworks, and tooling\nLead test automation initiatives, regression testing, and quality improvements\nEnsure high standards of software quality and reliability across deployments Stakeholder & Delivery Management\n\nAct as a trusted partner to internal stakeholders, aligning engineering capabilities with business needs\nManage relationships with internal teams and external vendors\nOversee delivery across multiple projects and ensure successful release and transition into live environments Team & Capability Development\n\nLead performance management, coaching, and professional development of engineers\nBuild organisational capability through mentoring and knowledge sharing\nIdentify skills gaps and implement training and development plans Required Experience\n\n8+ years' experience in a DevOps, QA, or related engineering roles, including people management responsibilities\nProven experience leading and line managing global technical teams\nHands-on experience implementing and optimising DevOps tooling (e.g. Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines)\nStrong background in test automation and QA tooling\nDeep understanding of DevOps and QA frameworks, principles, and best practices\nExperience working in Agile delivery environments What We're Looking For\n\nStrong technical leader with a passion for automation, quality, and continuous improvement\nExcellent stakeholder management and communication skills\nAbility to operate effectively in a fast-paced, complex environment\nCollaborative mindset with a focus on delivering measurable business value If you're interested in driving DevOps and QA excellence within a growing engineering function, we'd love to hear from you
