We are seeking an experienced Development / Project Engineer (Mechanical) to support the design, development, and lifecycle management of water control valves used in commercial HVAC systems. This role is highly hands-on and owns projects from concept through qualification and production support, working cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, quality, procurement, and global suppliers.

Development / Project Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Lead mechanical design, development, and qualification of new and existing HVAC valve products
  • Create and maintain 3D CAD models, detailed production drawings, and GD&T
  • Select materials and define functional, performance, and reliability requirements
  • Coordinate prototyping, testing, analysis, and technical documentation
  • Partner with suppliers to improve manufacturability, inspection processes, and end-of-line testing
  • Identify and assess technical risks; support mitigation plans throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Participate in design reviews, project meetings, and cross-functional engineering discussions

Development / Project Engineer Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 7+ years of mechanical design or product development experience
  • Strong proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and engineering drawings
  • Experience with manufacturing processes, tooling, and rapid prototyping
  • Hands-on testing, validation, and analytical problem-solving experience
  • Strong technical documentation and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as needed

Qualifications:

  • Experience leading technical projects or acting as a project engineer
  • Exposure to SAP, PLM systems, or ECTR (NX CAD experience a plus)
  • Background in HVAC systems, valves, actuators, fluid mechanics, or similar products
  • Exposure to FEA and/or CFD analysis
  • Familiarity with Jira and Confluence
  • Foreign skills (German, Italian, or Chinese) are a plus
