Development Engineer - Mechanical | Peterborough | 12-Month Contract\n Join a Global Leader in Power Systems Engineering\n\nAn exciting opportunity has opened for an experienced Development Engineer to join a leading global engineering firm, supporting innovation in mechanical power systems. You will work on major new product introduction (NPI) projects and quality improvement initiatives within a high-performing, collaborative team.\n\nWhy This Role?\n\nBe part of cutting-edge NPI (New Product Introduction) projects\n\nWork hands-on at a state-of-the-art on-site R&D centre\n\nTackle real-world engineering challenges that impact thousands of global applications\n\nCollaborate with a global engineering team across the UK, China, and India\n\nWhat You'll Do\n\nLead and execute validation tests on mechanical components and systems\n\nDrive root cause analysis and technical issue resolution\n\nPerform FMEA and support quality improvement initiatives\n\nConduct design reviews, plan testing, and liaise with suppliers\n\nCollaborate across teams to support production and customer-facing engineering\n\nWhat We are Looking For\n\n3+ years of relevant mechanical development/design experience\n\nSolid understanding of manufacturing principles & mechanical systems\n\nKnowledge of Core Engine systems: rotating systems, valvetrain, castings, lubrication, breather/cooling systems, bolted joints\n\nEducation in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering (HNC or degree level)\n\nExcellent communication and teamwork skills\n\nStrong organisational skills and self-motivation\n\nNice to Have\n\nExperience with Creo, Team Centre, or other CAD/data management tools\n\nFamiliarity with APQP, 8D, DVP&R, and FMEA\n\nPrior work on diesel or alternative fuel engines\n\nDetails\n\nLocation: Peterborough (fully on-site, 5 days/week)\n\nContract: 12 months (possibility of extension)\n\nPay Rate: Up to £32.50/hour\n\nStart Date: July 2025\n\nWorking Hours: 37/week (Mon-Fri)\n\nReady to take your development engineering career to the next level with a world-class organisation?\n Apply now and be part of shaping the engines of tomorrow.\n\nINDCP
