Design Release Engineer in Warren

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

\n
• Own the development, engineering, and flawless execution of major Hard Trim assemblies (e.g., complete center consoles, complex multi-material door panels). 

\n

• Establish technical specifications and Statement of Work (SOW) documentation for new vehicle program supplier sourcing. 

\n

• Author and update DFMEA templates and Best Practices documentation to capture institutional knowledge and prevent repeat launch issues. 

\n

• Oversee multi-component tolerance stack-up analyses to optimize gaps, flushes, and overall vehicle craftsmanship. 

\n

• Drive root-cause investigations for complex engineering issues during pre-production build phases (e.g., pilot, launch) using Shainin, Six Sigma, or 8D methodologies. 

\n

• Present program status, risk assessments, and technical solutions directly to engineering leadership during gateway reviews. 

\n

Required Qualifications: 

\n

\n
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master’s degree is a plus. 

\n

• 8 to 10 years of robust automotive interior release experience, with a heavy focus on Hard Trim systems. 

\n

• Advanced proficiency in NX CAD, Teamcenter, and variation simulation tools. 

\n

• Deep expertise in plastic tooling design, assembly strategies (heat staking, ultrasonic welding, clips), and advanced GD&T application.
