Design Manager - Menswear Brand
Job Description
We have partnered with a contemporary menswear & leisurewear brand who requires a dynamic Design Manager.
This is a pivotal leadership role, and requires a hands-on design approach. Your leadership and Creative Direction and Product knowledge will shape the design & development of future collection and will steer and guide the brand vision.
You will have an in depth knowledge of multi product menswear and sustainable practices, with a commercial eye, yet you will have a vision for future trends.
You will over5see a small team of both Permanent and freelance designers
Responsibilities:
- Delivering seasonal collections, for the UK and international customers
- Inspire, develop and drive the current design and development teams
- Understand trends , not be afraid to take risks, whilst always keeping in mind sustainability and commerciality.
- Work closely with key stakeholders to deliver collections in required time frames
- Have a clear understanding of consumer initiatives, strategic positioning, target audience and be able to identify consumer opportunities, ensuring concept and vision is delivered for the target consumer.
- Oversee, manage, the development of fabric, trim, branding and materials in line with brand vision
Key Requirements
- Experience of leading a high performing design team previously.
- Strong Menswear background
- Garment construction, fitting, and fabric expert.
- A strategic, logical and creative thinker.
