Design Manager / Design Coordinator – Cambridge\n\nSalary: Negotiable (DOE) + Package\n\nAnglian Recruitment is proud to be working with a long-established and highly reputable Building Services contractor as they look to appoint an experienced Design Coordinator / Design Manager to join their Cambridge team.\n\nOur client is a leading full-service provider of Mechanical & Electrical Installation and Maintenance services, operating across the public and private sectors, they deliver high-quality M&E projects . Their success is built on strong relationships, a proven delivery model, and an outstanding record of repeat business.\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Design Manager or a capable Design Coordinator ready to step up to oversee the full MEP design process across multiple projects.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * \n\n Take responsibility for the development and delivery of MEP design documentation from concept through to completion\n\n * \n\n Establish, agree and monitor design programmes with clients and design consultants\n\n * \n\n Lead and manage external design consultants and internal design teams\n\n * \n\n Review, assess and critique MEP design information throughout all stages\n\n * \n\n Ensure compliance with project briefs, regulations and spatial coordination\n\n * \n\n Attend and lead design coordination meetings, ensuring actions are clear and tracked\n\n * \n\n Manage RFI processes, information flow and design communication\n\n * \n\n Collaborate with subcontractors to incorporate technical design solutions\n\n * \n\n Support pre-construction teams to ensure project budgets and scopes are maintained\n\n * \n\n Undertake occasional minor design tasks to support project managers\n\n * \n\n Ensure coordinated working drawings are delivered for installation\n\n * \n\n Present design information at internal pre-contract meetings\n\n * \n\n Prepare client and project team reports, responding professionally to all correspondence\n\n * \n\n Ensure full adherence to health and safety procedures and design compliance\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\n\n * \n\n Minimum 5 years’ experience in MEP design or managing the MEP design process\n\n * \n\n Strong understanding of the full Building Services design cycle\n\n * \n\n Proven ability to design mechanical or electrical building services systems (e.g., public health, heating, cooling, ventilation, domestic water systems)\n\n * \n\n Degree in Building Services Engineering or working towards a recognised qualification\n\n * \n\n Strong knowledge of BIM Level 2 processes and BIM Execution Plans\n\n * \n\n Understanding of low and zero-carbon technologies\n\n * \n\n Experience with both traditional single-stage and two-stage D&B procurement\n\n * \n\n Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects\n\n * \n\n Strong communicator with good people management and stakeholder skills\n\n * \n\n Proactive problem-solver capable of working independently and under pressure\n\n * \n\n Solid understanding of health and safety within M&E design and construction\n\nWhat’s on Offer\n\n * \n\n Negotiable salary depending on experience\n\n * \n\n Excellent package and long-term career development\n\n * \n\n Opportunity to join a financially secure contractor\n\n * \n\n Stable workload with high-quality repeat clients\n\n * \n\n Supportive and collaborative working environment\n\nHow to Apply\n\nIf you’re an experienced Design Manager or a Design Coordinator looking to progress, we’d like to hear from you.\nApply through Anglian Recruitment or contact us directly for a confidential discussion
