About the role…



​At Ipsum, our vision is to be the leading customer service-focused provider of specialist utility and infrastructure solutions, operating on both public and private networks. As a Design Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the design aspects of our projects, ensuring that all designs are delivered to the highest standards and align with client requirements and industry regulations.



​As a Design Manager you will…



Leading and managing the design team to deliver high-quality designs for utility infrastructure projects.​



Reviewing, commenting on, and approving design documents related to new projects.​ Ensuring all designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.​ Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of designs into project plans.​ Managing design schedules and ensuring timely delivery of design packages.​Identifying and mitigating design risks throughout the project lifecycle.​ Providing technical guidance and support to the design team and continuously improving design processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and quality.



About you…



Degree in Engineering, Design, or a related field and membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., ICE, IET).​Extensive experience in design management within the utilities or construction sector.​ Strong understanding of utility infrastructure design principles and standards.​ Proficiency in design software and tools relevant to the role.​ Experience in managing multidisciplinary design teams.​
