We’re working with one of the UK’s leading main contractors to recruit a talented and experienced Design Manager to join their growing team in Leeds. With a strong pipeline of commercial, industrial and residential projects across the region, this is an excellent opportunity to step into a business that’s known for delivering complex schemes to the highest standard.

The Role

As Design Manager, you will take ownership of the design process from pre-construction through to handover. You’ll work closely with consultants, architects, and project teams to ensure the timely delivery of design information that meets both buildability and budget requirements.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading the design process across multiple live and pre-construction projects
• Coordinating design consultants and internal teams
• Ensuring compliance with planning, building regulations and client specifications
• Driving value engineering and buildability solutions
• Managing technical approvals and change control processes

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience as a Design Manager with a main contractor
• Strong technical background across various construction sectors
• Ability to lead and challenge design teams effectively
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously
