Job Title: Design Engineers – Structures & Outfit External\n\nLocation: Portsmouth – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role\n\nSalary: up to £42000depending on skills and experience\n\nWhat you’ll be doing:\n\nDesign Structural and Outfit arrangements using both 2D and 3D CAD packages\n\nPreparation of Production manufacturing and installation packages in line with specifications and all quality and technical standards.\n\nLiaising with Production to resolve onsite Design Queries\n\nConducting ship visits to validate the current configuration of the structure, material state and layout\n\nKeeping up to date in relevant technical areas to develop your skills and capabilities\n\nWorking with our customers to help develop their design requirements\n\nSupporting apprentices and junior engineers in their development\n\nYour skills and experiences:\n\nHNC or equivalent in a STEM discipline, or relevant time-served experience\n\nDesign tools experience (AutoCad, Inventor, Foran)\n\nExperience in Structures and/or Outfit design\n\nIdeally experience with ship repair or experience within the marine industry\n\nRequires detailed and comprehensive understanding of design concepts and principles relating to the relevant engineering discipline.
