About the Role

\n

As a Design Engineer within our Research & Development team, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing and developing injection-moulded products used in critical applications. From initial concept and prototyping to design validation and handover for manufacturing, you’ll be involved in the entire product lifecycle.

\n

This is a hands-on design role—not traditional project management—where your expertise in CAD and injection moulding will shape products that make a real difference.

Key Responsibilities

  • \n

    Product Design & Development:

    \n

      \n
    • Create and refine designs using 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks or similar).
    • \n

    • Develop prototypes using 3D printing and rapid prototyping techniques.
    • \n

    • Design for injection moulding, ensuring manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
    • \n

  • \n

  • \n

    Validation & Compliance:

    \n

      \n
    • Support verification and validation activities for new and modified products.
    • \n

    • Ensure compliance with ISO13485 and other regulatory standards.
    • \n

  • \n

  • \n

    Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:

    \n

      \n
    • Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing teams to optimise processes.
    • \n

    • Contribute to product and process improvement initiatives.
    • \n

    • Participate in risk assessments (FMEA) and root cause analysis.
    • \n

  • \n

  • \n

    Global Exposure:

    \n

      \n
    • Occasional travel to Asia and the US for supplier visits and collaboration (approx. 3–4 weeks per year).
    • \n

What We’re Looking For

\n

    \n
  • Degree in Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, Medical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • \n

  • Experience in R&D, ideally within medical devices, pharmaceuticals, FMCG or injection moulding environments.
  • \n

  • Strong knowledge of injection moulding processes and design principles.
  • \n

  • Proficiency in CAD software. 
  • \n

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
  • \n

\n

Desirable:

\n

    \n
  • Familiarity with ISO13485, Toll Gate design control, and Lean principles.
  • \n

  • Experience in regulated environments (medical, pharma, or similar).
  • \n
