Design Engineer | Mason, MI
Salary Range: $70,000 - $109,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop new products, components, and systems from concept to production.
- Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD models, assemblies, and technical drawings.
- Conduct design analysis, simulations (e.g., FEA), and validations to optimize performance and manufacturability.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are optimized for production processes (DFM/DFA).
- Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes based on design requirements, cost, and performance.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, including BOMs, specifications, and test plans.
- Support prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting activities for new and existing products.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor) for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, welding, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication).
- Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
- Knowledge of engineering materials, their properties, and application in product design.
- Ability to apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
Bonus Qualifications
- Proficiency with FEA or CFD simulation software.
- Demonstrated knowledge of specific manufacturing processes such as injection molding, CNC machining, or sheet metal fabrication.
- Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, or shop floor operations.
- Understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
