Design Engineer

We are seeking a Design Engineer to join our Engineering team, focusing on the design and development of their product. This role is integral to supporting the full product development lifecycle, from concept through to production release and engineering change management.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Produce detailed 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings for large assemblies including sheet metal components, plastics, routed piping systems, and electrical harnesses.
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including design calculations, technical notes, and supporting reports.
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Sales, Marketing, and suppliers to ensure products meet performance, cost, manufacturability, and serviceability requirements.
  • Manage and revise design documentation within the Product Data Management (PDM) system.
  • Liaise with various teams to define design briefs, resolve manufacturing issues, and support new product assembly.
  • Engage with suppliers to discuss drawings and technical requirements, and review prototype and production parts.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or completion of a technical trade school in CAD, drafting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years’ relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks; experience with SolidWorks PDM is .
  • Knowledge of sheet metal design, manufacturing processes, and machining techniques is desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
