Our client is seeking a Design Engineer to join their team in Lancaster on a full-time, permanent basis.



In this role, the Design Engineer will provide design support to both the sales and project management teams, assisting with activities related to sales enquiries and works orders. The successful candidate will collaborate with customers and suppliers, attend client meetings, and represent the company at trade shows.



THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

Minimum HND in Mechanical Engineering.



*



At least 5 years design engineering experience.



*



Mathcad and Autodesk software proficient.



*



Competent with MS Office suite.



*



Able to perform structural hand calculation skills.



*



Working knowledge of hydraulic systems.



*



Good knowledge of metals, alloys and phosphorous.



*



Strong commercial awareness.



*



Good team working and communication.



*



Strong organisational skills



JOB DESCRIPTION



*



Produce engineering documents.



*



Produce engineering models and detail drawings using Inventor and ACAD.



*



Perform finite analysis using ANSYS.



*



By agreement; Orcaflex and Thermal analysis.



*



Eliminate, reduce or control foreseeable health & safety risks through the design process.



*



Produce test procedures, reports and manuals.



*



Contact customers and suppliers for technical support to project managers.



*



Analyse and solve technical problems and provide solutions in a timely manner.



*



Investigate new technologies or existing technologies.



*



Assist with any other duties as and when required.



*



Carry out work in a timely and efficient manner in order to meet deadlines, changing priorities when the situation requires.



*



Carry out work in accordance with company operating procedures and statutory/client specifications and requirements.



*



Ensure that the safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable in order to ensure a safe working environment.



*



Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems and take an active part in the compliance and improvement of same.



*



Report any accidents, incidents, near misses, actual or potential problems with products, services or systems according to Company processes/procedures.



*



Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment.

New product development from to commercialisation (O&G and Renewables). Building and maintaining new client relationships.



*



Improvement of existing products.



*



The use of Autodesk suite of design tools.



*



Produce detail engineering and assembly drawings for manufacturing, testing and verification and conformance of design outputs to meet design inputs and oversee testing.
