Your Role\n

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in providing electrical design and integration support for new systems and equipment across maritime platforms. You’ll be involved in the entire design lifecycle, from early feasibility studies to detailed electrical design and installation documentation.

Core Responsibilities\n

\n
• Produce Installation Design Solutions, including Electrical/System Drawings, Cable Routes, Data Sheets, and Bills of Materials.

\n

• Liaise with MoD Customers and Industry Partners throughout the design process to develop agreed Equipment Integration Requirements.

\n

• Conduct Ship Surveys to support Design Integration, Material State Reports, Configuration Control, and Power Load Charts.

\n

• Configure and maintain Ship Databases for Electrical Power Distribution and Blown Fibre Networks.

\n

• Produce Ship and Equipment Feasibility Studies.

\n

• Collaborate with in-house Mechanical, Structural, HVAC, and Project Management Teams.

\n

• Work alongside Industry Partners and Technical Authorities.

\n

• Support Ship-build and Submarine electrical detailed design activities.

\n

• Provide technical input to Product Safety of Design Services deliverables.

\n

Essential Skills\n

\n
• Strong knowledge of Electrical Systems theory.

\n

• Ability to interpret and apply Electrical Design Standards.

\n

• Working knowledge of Electrical Installation Practices and Electrical Distribution Systems.

\n

• Familiarity with CAD/Engineering Drawing Toolsets.

\n

• ONC/HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

\n

About Our Team\n

Our Design Services Electrical Team is a diverse group of engineers, including industry professionals, Armed Forces Service Leavers, and graduates from our BAE Apprenticeship Schemes. We work closely with Structures & Outfit, HVAC, Mechanical & Piping, and Safety Teams to provide comprehensive electrical engineering support to the Royal Naval Surface Fleet, Royal Fleet Auxiliary, and Submarine Platforms.
