Job Summary:
Sterling Engineering is seeking a Design Engineer – Distribution for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This is an entry-level engineering position with no prior work experience required, offering the chance to gain hands-on experience in utility distribution projects while working fully remote.
Job Duties:

• Conduct preliminary reviews and markup evaluations.
• Provide mentorship and support to entry-level drafters and engineers.
• Ensure project scope, schedule, and deadlines are met.
• Apply knowledge of utility locates and safety requirements, including proper PPE usage.
• Collaborate with team members effectively in a remote environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• Proven ability to work independently and remotely while maintaining communication with the team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with utility safety concerns.
• CAD and technical skills to address simple markups and redlines.

Software Skills:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Schedule:

• Fully Remote, 40 hours per week.
