Design Engineer | Delta Township, MI

Salary Range: $68,000 - $107,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Delta Township seeking Design Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize product designs using CAD software.
• Create detailed 2D and 3D engineering drawings and specifications.
• Ensure designs meet manufacturing capabilities, cost targets, and quality standards.
• Select appropriate materials and components for new and existing products.
• Support prototyping, testing, and validation of design concepts.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, production, and quality teams throughout the product lifecycle.
• Analyze and resolve design-related issues and implement corrective actions.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical field
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo)
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication)
• Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and GD&T principles
• Experience with material selection and properties for industrial applications

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or other simulation software.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
• Hands-on experience with CAM software or machining processes.
• Familiarity with additive manufacturing processes and design for additive manufacturing (DFAM).
