Design Engineer – Metal Fabrication & Heavy Equipment Beloit, WI | On-Site | Direct Hire | $85,000 – $95,000
About the Opportunity
We are partnered with a well-established, fast-growing American manufacturer of heavy industrial equipment in Beloit, WI to find a talented Design Engineer to join their engineering team. This is a growth addition to a company that has recently opened a brand new state-of-the-art facility and is backed by a billion-dollar holding company. You will work closely with both engineering and the shop floor to design, document, and support fabricated metal assemblies from concept through production.
This is a great role for someone who wants to do real, hands-on design work — not just modeling all day. You'll be involved in calculations, regulatory compliance, production troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing teams.
What You'll Be Doing
- Create 3D models and detailed fabrication drawings in Autodesk Inventor
- Perform engineering calculations and support design decisions
- Build BOMs and routings in ERP systems
- Manage ECNs and design revisions
- Troubleshoot production issues alongside the shop floor team
- Support regulatory compliance work related to the product line
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of Design Engineering experience in metal fabrication or heavy equipment
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
- Sheet metal and weldment design experience
- BOM creation and ERP system experience
- Strong mechanical design and engineering calculation skills
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with manufacturing and fabrication teams
Nice to Have
- Pressure vessel or trailer/heavy vehicle design experience
- ASME Section VIII knowledge
- DOT/CFR regulatory familiarity
- FEA experience
- PE license
Why This Role
- Brand new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility
- Backed by a billion-dollar holding company with strong growth trajectory
- Clear path into leadership as the company expands
- American-made manufacturing culture that values craftsmanship and collaboration
- Competitive salary + full benefits
