Job Description

Aegis is partnered with a growing manufacturer of stainless steel tank trailers and process equipment that supports industries including chemical, food-grade, oilfield, and bulk liquid transport. This organization has over 50 years of experience and recently invested in a brand-new facility along with continued expansion in automation and advanced manufacturing.


They are seeking a Design Engineer to support new product design, engineering improvements, and production support within a heavy fabrication environment. This is a highly collaborative role working closely with both engineering and shop floor teams to bring designs into production.


Responsibilities:

  • Create 3D models and detailed drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
  • Develop BOMs and routings within ERP systems
  • Perform engineering calculations and support design validation
  • Support sheet metal and weldment design for fabricated products
  • Manage design revisions and engineering change notices (ECNs)
  • Troubleshoot production issues and support manufacturing teams
  • Ensure designs meet regulatory and safety standards


Requirements:

  • 3+ years Design Engineering experience in metal fabrication
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
  • Experience with sheet metal and weldment design
  • Experience creating BOMs and working within ERP systems
  • Strong communication skills working cross-functionally with production


Background:

  • Pressure vessel or trailer design
  • ASME or DOT regulatory exposure
  • Experience with FEA tools
