Design Engineer

Extra Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Design Engineer for one of our clients based in the Wolverhampton area. As a Design Engineer you’ll be responsible for producing accurate 2D layout drawings and 3D models based on client specifications.



Design Engineer Responsibilities:



Produce accurate 2D layout drawings and 3D models



Translate client briefs and site surveys into detailed design proposals.



Create General Arrangement drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation drawings.



Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes, fire regulations, and structural load requirements.



Coordinate with suppliers and fabricators to ensure drawings are practical and cost-effective.



Revise and update drawings based on client feedback or site conditions.



Maintain CAD libraries, templates, and drawing standards



Design Engineer Details:



Salary: £40,000 PA



Location: Wolverhampton (WV10)



Schedule: Monday – Friday (07:30am – 3:30pm)



Design Engineer Requirements:



Proficiency in Hi Cad software or similar



Knowledge of steel structures, mezzanine flooring systems, and modular construction.



Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.



Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.



Understanding of fire safety regulations, building codes, and CDM requirements.



Experience in preparing fabrication-level drawings for steelwork.



Good communication skills for liaising with engineers, installers, and clients.
