JOB- Product Designer / Design Engineer

LOCATION- Macclesfield  - Hybrid

TERM- Permanent

SALARY- £30,000 - £40,000, dependent on experience



 My client is looking for a Product Designer / Design Engineer to join their business on a permanent basis in the Cheshire area. They are an expert in their field and provide Engineering Design solutions to Retail / POS industry



The Design Engineer role will involve:



Experienced using Solidworks CAD

Drawing components and assemblies

Overview of adobe products like Photoshop and Illustrator

Used to working on Microsoft office

Portfolio examples of previous work to date

Experience of 1+ years in a similar role (manufacture, engineering, design)

Knowledge of manufacture and production processes important

Highly proficient in spoken and written English

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience in kiosks, cabinets, vending...would be good Personal specification        

Keen eye for detail

Self-motivated and happy to work autonomously

Positive outlook with an enthusiastic and friendly approach

Flexible and adaptable with persistent drive to learn new skills and continuously improve

Confident in self-managing time to deliver accurate work to tight deadlines

Role and Responsibilities



Designing components and products for the retail environment

Sketching

Concept development

CAD

Realistic rendering

Prototyping

Testing

Artwork preparation

Preparing engineering drawings

Preparation of production files

Project lead and ownership

Product handover and sign off with production team

Supporting the design team in concept development from briefs supplied

Buildings and preparing presentations for sales presentations

Keeping abreast of the latest trends in POS design and manufacture

Presentation creation
