Design Engineer

White Label is working exclusively with an engineering and manufacturing business in the Leeds/Wakefield area that require a Design Engineer experienced in sheet metal and fabrication to join their team.



The role involves working closely with the wider engineering team and suppliers to provide full sheet metal designs for products ensuring 3D models are complete and kept updated with product changes and innovations.

Key Responsibilities of the Design Engineer



* Develop detailed sheet metal component and assembly drawings



* Create technical plans and design products based on team requirements



* Lead sheet metal design using Autodesk Fusion 360



* Produce accurate 3D models and BOMs



* Ensure regulatory compliance for mechanical fixed equipment



* Identify and implement product improvements, supporting manufacturing with value engineering



* Assist in problem resolution during manufacturing



* Contribute to HAZID and HAZOP reviews of products



Experience required of the Design Engineer



* 5+ years of experience in sheet metal fabrication/design



* Proficient in CAD/3D software (Fusion 360, SolidWorks)



* Experience in managing engineering risk assessments



* Desirable experience with refrigeration, heat exchangers, pumps, piping, valves, compressors
