Role: Mechanical Design Engineer \nRate: Circa £48/hr \nDuration: 12-months, likely to extend\nLocation: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire\nJoin a leading automotive company as Mechanical Design Engineer where you will design the next  of systems for cutting-edge engines. From concept to release, you will be driving performance, quality, and innovation every step of the way.\nResponsibilities: \n\nDesigning and developing engine components and systems. \nLeading design reviews and driving cross-functional decisions.\nCollaborating with global teams and suppliers.\nUsing Creo and Teamcenter to create and manage powertrain designs.\nRunning FMEA, APQP, DVP&R and tackling issues using 8D methodology.\nSupporting testing, validation, and production readiness.\nRequirements: \n\nStrong mechanical engineering background\nCAD, Creo and PLM (Teamcenter)  \nSolid knowledge of powertrain/engine component design\nGood grasp of manufacturing principles and processes
