Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Design Engineer with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in dry-type (VPI) distribution transformer design. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and supporting the production of VPI transformers in compliance with industry standards and customer specifications. This is a key technical role within our engineering team, contributing directly to product quality and manufacturing support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design dry-type (VPI) distribution transformers up to 10MVA, 33 kV based on project and customer requirements
- Understand customer specifications and get necessary details for transformer design
- Prepare transformer Electrical design meeting all custom requirements and manufacturing drawing packages (core, winding drawings) and bills of material to issue to production
- Check & Verify Mechanical drawings (Outlines & fabrication).
- Work closely with sales and production to ensure the custom design is done according to customer requirements.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
- Prepare technical drawings, design reports, and compliance documentation
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
- Minimum Minimum 2 years of experience in dry-type (VPI) distribution transformer design
- Strong knowledge of electromagnetic, thermal, and mechanical design principles specific to dry-type transformers
- Familiarity with industry standards (IEEE, DOE16, UL) for transformer design
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Skills and Competencies:
- Deep understanding of dry-type (VPI) transformer design, including magnetic, electrical, and mechanical aspects. Ability to perform basic design calculations and analyze electrical parameters.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory and performance standards in all design activities.
- Knowledge of materials, insulation systems, resin curing, and how design choices impact manufacturing and quality.
- Effective communication and teamwork with production, testing, quality, and sales teams to deliver successful designs.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new tools, systems, and engineering workflows

- Respect for safety practices, standards, and quality processes in a manufacturing environment
