Design Engineer
White Label is hiring a Design Engineer for a multi-sector structural steel manufacturer who are looking to bolster the team in their special projects department.
The role will focus on bespoke projects and will be a full start to finish design role where you’ll take projects from concept through to product and site implementation.
My client is offering a salary of £30,000 - £40,000 plus:
* 40 hours per week with flexibility around core hours of 10:30 – 4 PM
* 1 day work from home per week (must be a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday
* 33 days holiday including bank holidays

Key responsibilities of the Design Engineer
* Design and develop technically advanced product solutions
* Prepare detailed design, construction, and manufacturing drawings
* Produce and manage technical documentation: design risk assessments, materials specs, standard drawings, technical manuals
* Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and company health & safety policies
* Conduct design calculations (in-house or via external specialists)
* Submit planning, EPC, SBEM, and building regulation applications
* Provide technical training and support across departments
* Liaise with suppliers, sub-contractors, and clients on technical issues
* Attend site surveys and customer visits
* Support business development with technical input
* Assist Drawing Office with training and overflow work
* Engage with R&D and contribute to product innovation
* Support DNV / Lloyds Register compliance and testing
Experience required of the Design Engineer
* Minimum 2 years' experience in an engineering design role
* Strong background in steel structures and fabrication (welding, calcs, structural understanding)
* Proficient in Autodesk Inventor (Vault and BIM exposure beneficial)
* Practical, hands-on approach and able to work cross-functionally
