We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Design & Development Engineer who thrives in a hands-on R&D and prototyping environment. You'll be working closely with a team of like-minded engineers, turning early-stage ideas into physical medical & healthcare equipment that makes a difference.
This is a role for doers, builders, and problem-solvers. You’ll be involved at every stage of development: concept, design, build, and test. If you live to tinker, fabricate, or design from scratch, and have real-world experience with tools and machines, this is your kind of job.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Working hands-on in the workshop: machining, welding, fabricating, assembling, and testing custom prototypes
* Designing mechanical components and assemblies for new medical & healthcare equipment
* Taking ideas from sketches to functional prototypes and refined designs
* Using SolidWorks to create models and technical drawings (training available if needed)
* Collaborating closely with R&D colleagues across engineering disciplines
* Applying practical problem-solving to unique mechanical challenges
What We’re Looking For:
* A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
* Industry experience in mechanical R&D and Prototyping
* Strong hands-on skills: welding, fabrication, metalwork, machining, or CNC are highly valued
* Experience working with tools and machinery in a workshop setting
* A practical mindset - someone who builds, repairs, and improves things in or out of work
* Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD (we can offer training if needed)
* Comfortable working independently as part of a collaborative engineering team
* Full right to work in the UK; driving license due to site location
