Position Summary & Key Responsibilities

As a Deputy Project Manager, you'll support the Project Manager in leading a team in executing administration and support tasks for an emergency management educational program. To be successful in this role, you'll need

  • Project Management: Lead, plan, and support project- and task-level initiatives related to program administration, process improvement, and customer service based on contractual requirements, while tracking performance and maintaining a healthy timeline, budget, and team environment.
  • Client Relationship Management: Collaborate independently and productively with clients. Develop relationships with clients to contribute to solutioning, foster a collaborative team culture, and keep an eye out for opportunities to add value.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Apply proficiency in project management and customer service to enhance service quality and create compelling solutions for federal clients.
  • Leadership and Culture: Lead a dynamic team in task execution. Contribute to a collaborative team culture by asking and answering questions, taking ownership of tasks, and ensuring 360-degree feedback that is timely, candid, and supportive.

This position is on-site: Most work is performed in Emmitsburg, MD. Periodic telework may be performed at the discretion of the government.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • High-School diploma
  • 3+ years of experience in project management or related field
  • Demonstrated ability to independently produce client-ready deliverables with strong problem solving, attention to detail, and timeline management
  • Excellent communication, writing, and facilitation skills
  • Proficiency in MS 365 suite
  • Ability to work on site in Emmitsburg, MD.
  • Ability to pass a Federal public trust background check and/or security clearance investigation
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English

Nice-To-Have Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in emergency management, public administration, business administration, or a related field
  • Familiarity with FEMA's mission and educational program offerings
  • Proficiency with MS SQL Server databases
  • Experience with high-volume customer service correspondence
  • Experience with federal contracting, privacy laws, compliance, and reporting
