About the Opportunity
We are looking for a nuclear professional - Deputy Operations Manager to aid in managing and overseeing the Integrated Asset Care Contract based at Sellafield (Framework is a 4+1 year & £250M sanction). The scope includes mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering with individual Jobs, Tasks and Projects ranging from hundreds to several million pounds. The contract is being delivered by OneAIM (a joint venture between Mitie and Jacobs).
You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of the safety performance throughout the organisation, leading behaviors from the front to ensure safe delivery. You will embed the Culture Change Programme throughout operations and will lead Industrial Relations Management for the framework with support from JV Partner HR including liaising with the Sellafield IR Manager and unions and will be responsible for development of future capability including modern methods of construction. In addition to this you will support the delivery of aggregated operating unit revenue and profit margin as well as being accountable for the performance of the operating unit as delegated by the Framework Director. Attendance and representation at client meetings, JV Exec meetings and NAECI / CIJI forums as required.
It is essential the Deputy Operations Manager has in depth knowledge of applicable working rule agreements (CIJC & NAECI) and a track record of implementing change programmes, as well as strong management experience within a heavy regulated environment. The Deputy Operations Manager will have in depth knowledge of the legislative, regulatory, quality, and environmental requirements related to a heavily regulated environment and the ability to attain SC or DV clearance. Effective communication and strong leadership skills are a must.
As this is a senior role, an engineering qualification and knowledge and experience with management of contractors in a heavily regulated environment would be desirable.
