Overview:

Energy Jobline is supporting the delivery of a major international energy infrastructure programme and is seeking an experienced Deck Engineering Coordinator to join a multidisciplinary project delivery team.

The role will support offshore development activities involving the engineering, fabrication, and installation of topside structures and deck modules for offshore facilities.

The Role:

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Deck Engineering Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating engineering activities associated with offshore deck structures and topside modules. The position plays a key role in ensuring alignment between engineering design, fabrication, marine operations, and offshore installation.

The successful candidate will work closely with engineering teams, contractors, and fabrication yards to support safe and efficient project execution across the design, construction, and installation phases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering inputs for topside deck structures, including structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.
• Review engineering deliverables such as layout drawings, lifting studies, and 3D models to ensure compliance with applicable standards and classification requirements.
• Support planning activities related to deck load-out, transportation, lifting operations, and offshore installation.
• Interface with construction teams, marine operations specialists, and commissioning teams to ensure effective sequencing of project activities.
• Manage technical coordination with fabrication yards, subcontractors, and equipment suppliers.
• Provide engineering support during fabrication and construction, assisting with the resolution of technical queries and non-conformance issues.
• Assist with offshore load-out, transportation, and lifting activities as required.
• Maintain technical documentation and support project reporting, installation procedures, and final handover documentation.

Skills & Experience:

• Experience working on offshore platforms, topside modules, or similar marine structures.
• Knowledge of deck engineering design, fabrication, and installation processes.
• Familiarity with engineering software such as AutoCAD, Navisworks, or STAAD Pro.
• Strong coordination skills with the ability to work across multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams.
• Good understanding of offshore lifting operations, marine installation constraints, and construction sequencing.

Qualifications:

• BSc in Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years’ relevant experience in offshore engineering or construction environments.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

Additional Information:

The advertised day rate applies to independent consultants operating on a contract basis. Candidates who prefer to be engaged as employees of the client may be offered a different remuneration structure.
