Overview
Energy Jobline is supporting a major international energy infrastructure programme and is seeking an experienced Deck Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Supervisor to oversee site installation and commissioning activities for electrical and instrumentation systems.
The role will support construction and commissioning phases of complex energy facilities, ensuring systems are installed safely, efficiently, and in line with project specifications and industry standards.
The Role
Reporting to the Deck Construction Superintendent, the E&I Supervisor will supervise electrical and instrumentation installation activities on site and coordinate daily construction operations with engineering, commissioning, and contractor teams.
The role focuses on ensuring E&I works are executed safely and in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, and schedule requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise installation and testing of electrical power systems, transformers, distribution panels, and lighting systems
- Oversee installation and commissioning of instrumentation equipment including transmitters, control valves, analyzers, and associated control systems
- Monitor installation of power, control, signal, and fiber-optic cabling infrastructure
- Supervise loop checks, continuity testing, insulation resistance testing, and functional testing of E&I systems
- Ensure installation activities are carried out in accordance with engineering drawings and project documentation
- Coordinate daily construction activities with subcontractors, engineers, and quality inspectors
- Monitor work progress and manpower allocation to support project schedule requirements
- Support system handover activities and coordinate with commissioning teams
- Ensure completion of documentation including red-line markups, as-built drawings, and testing records
- Participate in system walkdowns and support closure of punch list items
Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems used in energy or industrial facilities
- Experience supervising installation and commissioning activities for electrical and control systems
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings such as P&IDs, single-line diagrams, loop diagrams, and layout drawings
- Experience with testing, troubleshooting, and system commissioning activities
- Familiarity with project completion systems such as ICAPS or WinPCS
- Strong leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills in site-based environments
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Automation & Control Engineering
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in electrical and instrumentation construction or supervision roles
- Experience working on large-scale energy or industrial construction projects
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills

The advertised day rate applies to independent consultants operating on a contract basis. Candidates who prefer to be engaged as employees of the client may be offered a different remuneration structure.
