Summary:

Write, edit, and troubleshoot programs for assigned robotic welding machinery, using computer software for programming and other department support. Ensure weldments meet Rosenboom weld specification S903DZ0001.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Write robotic weld programs that meet the quality specifications of customers and Rosenboom while maintaining minimum weld cycle time.
  • Inspect, measure, and/or test completed weldments and supporting materials, to ensure conformance to specifications, using measuring and testing devices.
  • Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as gas metal arc welding and gas tungsten arc welding equipment.
  • Productive member of his/her workgroup and adheres to all Rosenboom polices, including safety requirements/procedures especially working with robotic equipment, to ensure a safe working environment for all Rosenboom employees.
  • Work in a production setting to facilitate the needs of Rosenboom’s production goals.
  • Maintain preventive maintenance (PM) program for all weld related equipment. ⎯ Maintain a 6S program for equipment and tools in the Weld Support Department.

Competencies:

  • Understands written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents – English.
  • Assist in training department peers and production operators as needed.
  • Ability to become familiar with other robot manufacturers and models.
  • Ability to travel for training or to assist other facilities.
  • Use of mathematics to solve problems.
  • Demonstrate ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Determines the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
