GENERAL PURPOSE
Provides overall leadership, management, and quality assurance of a day program providing services and supports to people with intellectual/developmental disabilities. Ensures person-centered services that promote independence, community , and meaningful engagement while maintaining compliance with regulatory and funding requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
I. Program Leadership & Operations
A. Oversees the daily operations of the day program, ensuring a safe, supportive, and engaging environment
B. Develops and implements program goals, schedules, and activities aligned with person-centered plans
C. Monitors program effectiveness and continuously improves service quality
II. Staff Supervision & Development
A. Recruits, hires, trains, and supervises staff providing day habilitation, supported community connections, and employment services
B. Provides ongoing coaching, performance evaluations, and professional development
C. Ensures appropriate staffing ratios and coverage
III. Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance
A. Ensures compliance with all applicable HCBS, Medicaid waiver, employment, health and safety, and labor regulations
B. Maintains accurate documentation, reporting, and records
C. Prepares for state audits
IV. Budget & Resource Management
A. Assists in the development and management of the annual day program budget
B. Oversees purchasing of necessary items and services
C. Ensures the efficient use of funding and program sustainability
V. Health & Safety
A. Maintains a safe environment in compliance with state regulations and oversees emergency drills
B. Oversees incident reporting and risk management procedures
C. Ensures staff are trained in individual protocols, emergency protocols, and CPR/First Aid
VI. Family & Stakeholder Engagement
A. Communicates regularly with families, guardians, case managers, and external partners
B. Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings, as requested, while promoting participant rights, choice, dignity, and self-advocacy
C. Addresses concerns in a timely manner and ensures high levels of satisfaction
D. Builds community partnerships to expand opportunities for participants
VII. Attends all required staff meetings and other meetings and training as requested by the Executive Director
VIII. Other duties as required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree in human services, Business Administration or a related field
· Strong leadership and team management skills with a minimum of three years of supervisory experience
· Familiarity with Colorado HCBS regulations
· Knowledge of person-centered practices and positive behavioral supports
· Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and virtual communication platforms
· Flexibility in work schedule
· Ability to manage multiple priorities
· Ability to assist in lifting and transferring of participants
· Valid Colorado driver’s license, reliable vehicle and auto insurance
QUALIFICATIONS
· Familiarity with Medicaid billing systems and Therap
· Completion of a Colorado state approved Supported Employment training course or one year of successful experience in employment counseling, job placement, job coaching or vocational rehabilitation
