Role: Data Center Operations Engineer / Project Manager
Location: Austin TX

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Data Center Operations Engineer / Project Manager with strong hands-on expertise in data center management, DCIM tools, and infrastructure operations. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in cabling, hardware maintenance, inventory management, and project oversight within large-scale data center environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support racking and stacking of equipment within the data center.
- Maintain accurate operational inventory of all equipment using DCIM tools such as Aperture / OpenDCIM.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot data center cabling (Fiber, Cat5/Cat6) and physical infrastructure.
- Manage cable running lists, deployment records, and documentation updates.
- Supervise maintenance and repair activities for facilities, systems, and hardware.
- Ensure all equipment is properly labeled and compliant with DCM standards.
- Maintain inventory of copper, fiber, and power cords.
- Monitor security, access controls, and raised-floor environments.
- Coordinate with OEM vendors for maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation.
- Monitor and optimize power utilization, HVAC usage, and related environmental conditions.
- Support forecasting, quarterly budgeting, and operational planning.
- Drive continuous improvement of Methods and Procedures (MOPs) for equipment deployment and operations.
- Provide Tier I IT support when required.
- Occasional travel as needed.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in data center operations, infrastructure management, and project coordination.
- Hands-on cabling experience, including fiber runs, decommissioning, and cable management.
- Hardware troubleshooting skills: hard drives, fan trays, DIMMs, processors.
- Experience working with HP, Dell, Cisco, SuperMicro, and custom-built servers.
- Strong knowledge of DCIM tools (OpenDCIM, Aperture, or equivalent).
- Experience in inventory management, documentation, and asset lifecycle tracking.
- Ability to forecast and support quarter-wise budgeting and planning.
- Experience coordinating with OEM vendors and third-party partners.
- Familiarity with data center power, cooling, and environmental systems.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
