Position Purpose
A versatile position within a dynamic nonprofit that provides
community-inspired, volunteer-powered disaster relief. The position is full-time and is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our data infrastructure and pipelines to enable data collection, processing and storage and accessibility, ensuring data quality and supporting data-driven initiatives.
This position is based in Washington, D.C. but will consider US based remote candidates.
Reporting Relationships
- Reports to Senior Director of Information Technology

Essential Functions
- Oversee Salesforce database and Tableau reporting infrastructure.
- Maintain and develop applications utilized by AHAH departments.
- Develop and implement scalable data pipelines for ingesting, processing and transforming large columns of structured and unstructured data.
- Design and maintain data models, schemas, and database structures to support analytical and operational use cases.
- Build and maintain data infrastructure, including databases, data warehouses, and cloud storage.
- Assist in implementation of data governance and security policies.
- Design and implement data integrations between different systems and databases.
- Develop APIs for data access and sharing.
- Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for code, architecture, and system changes.
- Perform data analysis to identify data quality issues and troubleshoot data-related problems.
- Work closely with business teams and stakeholders to understand their data needs and requirements.
- Perform other duties as required by the Senior Director of Technology and CEO.
Position Requirements
- Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics or related field
- Related Experience 3-5 years experience in data engineering or systems engineering
- Special Competencies/Certifications Proficiency in Salesforce, Tableau and databases. Experience with big data technologies and data warehousing. Expertise in ETL processes and tools. Programming experience . Experience with cloud-based services and infrastructures. Cloud certifications optional but beneficial. Project Management experience is a plus.
- Good written and oral communication skills and confident working with Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office. Applicants need to be well organized and have a flexible approach to managing multiple tasks and prioritizing them appropriately. The individual is able to manage a large workload and perform in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation Typical starting salary is $70,000-$80,000 USD based on skills and experience.
