The Data Scientist supports the design, development, and implementation of analytical and statistical solutions that drive operational efficiency, customer experience improvements, and business growth. This role blends technical analytics with practical application, translating insights into actions that enhance performance across processes, products, and customer interactions. The ideal candidate is analytical, curious, and eager to connect data-driven findings to real-world business outcomes.
Essential Functions:
- Contribute to the development, testing, and implementation of predictive and statistical models that support risk management, operational decisioning, and customer engagement strategies.
- Translate complex analytical findings into actionable recommendations that improve operational performance, service delivery, and customer satisfaction.
- Partner cross-functionally with business, risk, sales, and operations teams to embed analytics into workflows and decision tools.
- Conduct data exploration, segmentation, and root cause analysis to identify performance drivers and optimization opportunities.
- Support automation and process improvement initiatives through data modeling, scorecard development, and decision logic refinement.
- Participate in monitoring and validation activities to ensure models and reporting tools maintain accuracy, fairness, and business relevance.
- Create clear documentation of model assumptions, methodology, and governance requirements.
- Present quantitative insights in accessible ways to non-technical stakeholders, enabling better business and customer outcomes.
- Contribute to innovation by testing new modeling techniques, analytical frameworks, and data visualization methods.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required in a Quantitative field (Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Industrial Engineering, etc.).
- 2–5 years of experience in data science, analytics, or statistical modeling, preferably within financial services, lending or customer analytics.
- Experience with SAS, SQL, R, or Python for statistical analysis and modeling.
- Proficient in MS Office and Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with the ability to connect technical insights to operational and customer outcomes.
- Solid understanding of statistical modeling techniques and their business applications.
- Effective communicator able to translate data into meaningful narratives for business partners.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and present findings clearly.
