Data Migration Architect

4 months - initially

Bath - onsite 2/3 days per week

£545 inside IR35 - umbrella only

\n

Technical Leadership

\n

\n
• Own the architecture and design of ETL frameworks for clinical data migrations

\n

• Define migration patterns, tooling strategy, and deployment approach (batch, real-time, hybrid)

\n

• Provide technical governance across all migration workstreams

\n

• Lead architecture reviews, design assurance, and technical decision-making

\n

• Mentor and guide Data Engineers, Architects, and SMEs across the programme

\n

\n

Data Strategy & Planning

\n

\n
• Define end-to-end data migration strategy, including:

\n

• Data extraction from legacy clinical systems

\n

• Transformation rules and mapping specifications

\n

• Data validation, reconciliation, and quality control frameworks

\n

• Establish data standards, models, and governance principles aligned to healthcare regulations

\n

• Develop migration roadmaps, including phasing, cutover strategy, and rollback planning

\n

\n

Clinical Data Expertise

\n

\n
• Apply knowledge of clinical data models, terminologies, and standards (e.g., patient records, diagnostics, outcomes)

\n

• Ensure compliance with healthcare data regulations (e.g., GDPR, NHS data standards if UK-based)

\n

• Work closely with clinicians, analysts, and stakeholders to validate data interpretation

\n

• Support safe handling of sensitive patient data and ensure auditability

\n

\n

ETL & Data Engineering

\n

\n
• Design and oversee ETL pipelines for large-scale structured and unstructured clinical datasets

\n

• Select and implement appropriate tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Informatica, SQL-based tooling)

\n

• Ensure performance, scalability, and resilience of data processing workflows

\n

• Oversee data cleansing, enrichment, and transformation logic

\n

\n

Data Quality & Governance

\n

\n
• Define data quality frameworks, including rules, thresholds, and monitoring processes

\n

• Lead data profiling, cleansing, and remediation activities

\n

• Establish reconciliation and verification processes ensuring completeness and accuracy

\n

• Implement audit trails and data lineage capabilities

\n

\n

Stakeholder Management

\n

\n
• Act as the primary technical authority for migration with business and clinical stakeholders

\n

• Translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly

\n

• Collaborate with programme managers, vendors, and clinical teams

\n

• Support risk management and issue resolution throughout delivery

\n

\n
