Overview

CTG is seeking to fill a Data Engineer – Data Modeling opening for our client in Dallas, TX.

Location: Dallas, TX
Duration: 12 Months

Duties:

• Design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using PySpark and Python.

• Implement data quality checks and validation using tools such as Great Expectations.

• Utilize Airflow for orchestration of data workflows and automation of data pipelines.

• Collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and cross-functional business teams to understand data needs and translate them into robust technical solutions.

• Support data modeling activities, including the design and maintenance of efficient data models to support reporting and analytics use cases.

• Write efficient SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.

• Ensure performance tuning and optimization of data processing pipelines.

Skills:

• Strong programming experience in Python, with practical expertise using libraries such as pandas, sqlalchemy, and pySpark.

• Solid working knowledge of SQL, including performance optimization techniques.

• Experience with building and maintaining ETL pipelines.

• Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow.

• Understanding of data modeling principles and best practices.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles.

• Demonstrated success in developing and managing data pipelines and data infrastructure in a production environment.

• Experience working in cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
