About the Job

Our thirst for technology is a part of everything we do. The Data Center Engineering team takes the physical design of our data centers into the future. Our lab mirrors a research and development department -- cutting-edge strategies are born, tested and tested again. Along with a team of great minds, you take on complex topics like how we use power or how to run state-of-the-art, environmentally-friendly facilities. You're a visionary who optimizes for efficiencies and never stops seeking improvements -- even small changes that can make a huge impact. You generate ideas, communicate recommendations to senior-level executives and drive implementation alongside facilities technicians.

With your technical expertise, you ensure compliance with codes and standards, develop infrastructure improvements and serve as an expert in your specialty (e.g., cooling, electrical).

As a Power Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, analyzing, and optimizing complex power systems, with a focus on microgrids and mission-critical environments like data centers. You will leverage your expertise in electrical studies, power modeling, and renewable energy integration to drive innovation and ensure the reliability of our infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with executive team members to develop future data center power architecture concepts, focusing on microgrid integration and renewable energy solutions.

Perform detailed electrical studies (i.e., load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, arc flash) and utilize advanced power modeling techniques to optimize existing power architectures and resolve power quality and protection issues within data centers and microgrid environments.

Lead the investigation and integration of renewable power and energy storage technologies, including utility-scale battery systems, to enhance the sustainability and resilience of mission-critical facilities.

Create and maintain comprehensive electrical single-line diagrams, layouts, and power system models, ensuring accurate documentation for efficient field implementation and ongoing system optimization.
