Job Description

Construction Manager


Location: San Antonio, TX (On-site)


Veksel Consulting & Contracting is seeking a Construction Manager to deliver outstanding results for our legacy clients and ensure seamless collaboration across all project stakeholders. This role is central to maintaining client trust while guiding projects through every stage of delivery. The Construction Manager will serve as the liaison between our clients, their tenants, the base build construction team, design-build partners, and internal subject matter experts—ensuring alignment, accountability, and excellence throughout.


Primary Responsibilities:

Client Service & Stakeholder Leadership

  • Act as the trusted representative for Veksel’s legacy clients, ensuring their requirements and expectations are consistently met.
  • Serve as the key point of contact between tenants, base build contractors, design-build partners, and all other project participants.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners to ensure continuity and long-term success.


Project Delivery

  • Lead projects from early planning through turnover, including scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, permitting, procurement, construction oversight, and commissioning.
  • Ensure all phases of work support mission-critical facility standards and operational reliability.
  • Oversee the quality, accuracy, and completeness of deliverables prior to handoff.


Financial & Contract Oversight

  • Track budgets, forecasts, and cash flows, ensuring financial discipline across projects.
  • Review contractor billings, validate progress through site verification, and safeguard cost accountability.
  • Negotiate and manage vendor agreements to ensure compliance and successful performance.


Technical & Compliance Leadership

  • Coordinate design and construction activities to meet project goals, codes, engineering standards, and customer requirements.
  • Direct and align civil, structural, architectural (CSA) and mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) scopes of work.
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety and compliance standards.

Continuous Improvement

  • Capture lessons learned and implement process efficiencies that reduce cost and schedule risk.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in project execution.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of construction management experience (7+ ), with emphasis on mission-critical or data center projects.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and complex stakeholder environments.
  • Deep technical knowledge of CSA and MEP construction.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and manage competing deadlines.
  • Travel up to 20% expected (subject to increase as project needs evolve).


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform site walks, climb stairs, and engage in routine physical activity associated with active construction sites.
  • Occasionally lift or move up to 25 lbs.
