Job Description

Data Architect | Chicago, IL | $160,000 – $210,000 | 2 days remote

Responsibilities

• This role is focused on enterprise data modeling and architecture, not data engineering.
• You will act as the firm’s data blueprint owner, defining how data should be structured across systems to improve consistency, quality, and scalability.
• While data engineers build pipelines, you will define what should be built, how it should be modeled, and how systems should relate to one another.
• This is a high‑priority role designed to close a critical gap in enterprise data structure and governance.

Must‑Haves

• Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science, Engineering, Data, or related field)
• 8+ years of experience in Data Architecture, Data Modeling, or Information Architecture
• Deep experience in enterprise data modeling (core requirement)
• Proven expertise in:
• Conceptual, logical, and physical modeling
• Domain‑driven data design
• Master Data Management (MDM) and entity resolution
• Experience designing data structures in modern cloud data environments
• SQL knowledge for data analysis
• Experience with Databricks or lakehouse architectures
• Exposure to semantic models, ontology, taxonomy, or knowledge graphs
