Job Description

What You'll Do
- Design, build, and manage secure enterprise IT infrastructure spanning endpoint management, and access management (IAM), cloud and on-premises systems, network architecture, computing clusters, help desk operations, incident response, and enterprise security tooling.
- Develop and maintain security automation, infrastructure-as-code, and custom cybersecurity solutions using scripting and programming to improve operational efficiency, threat detection, compliance monitoring, and system resilience.
- Lead cybersecurity engineering initiatives including vulnerability management, security monitoring, log analysis, endpoint protection, access controls, network segmentation, and incident response capabilities.
- Own and drive compliance programs across CMMC, NIST 800-171, ITAR, and related government security frameworks; lead organizational readiness efforts and coordinate successful C3PAO assessments ahead of compliance deadlines.
- Architect and implement secure environments supporting Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and future classified programs, including SCIF planning, secure infrastructure design, operational procedures, and security controls.
- Develop and enforce IT security protocols for domestic and international operations, supporting secure travel, field deployments, export-controlled technologies, and mission-critical activities.
- Partner with engineering, manufacturing, mission operations, contracts, business development, and executive leadership to deliver secure, scalable technology solutions that enable company growth and operational excellence.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing IT and cybersecurity team while establishing processes, standards, and roadmaps that scale with the organization.
What You'll Need
- Strong hands-on experience in systems administration, cybersecurity engineering, and infrastructure management.
- Advanced proficiency with Linux/Unix administration, command-line operations, Bash scripting, PowerShell, Python, or similar automation and programming .
- Experience developing custom security tools, automations, integrations, or infrastructure management solutions through scripting and software development.
- Deep understanding of networking, operating systems, management, cloud infrastructure, endpoint security, vulnerability management, and incident response.
- Demonstrated experience implementing and maintaining compliance with CMMC, NIST 800-171, ITAR, and other government cybersecurity requirements.
- Experience supporting government, defense, aerospace, or highly regulated environments with a practical, risk-based approach to security.
- Proven ability to lead infrastructure and security initiatives while remaining hands-on with technical implementation.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
You'll Stand Out
- Direct experience leading CMMC readiness efforts and managing successful C3PAO assessments.
- Background in secure software development, security automation, DevSecOps, threat detection engineering, or cybersecurity tool development.
- Experience designing and supporting classified environments, SCIF construction and accreditation, or programs involving CUI and classified information.
- Active U.S. security clearance or previous clearance eligible for reinstatement.
- Experience in a rapidly scaling defense technology, aerospace, security, robotics, or deep-tech startup environment.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, Security+, CySA+, CASP+, CMMC Certified Professional (CCP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or cloud security certifications.
