Brief Overview of Position:

Strategic Operational Solutions (STOPSO) is seeking candidates for a Cyber Operations Engineer to support a Department of Homeland Security client. The ideal candidate will support daily operations, automation, and light project coordination activities. This role is ideal for a candidate who thrives at the intersection of engineering, scripting, and operational delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Python scripts to automate recurring operational tasks and monitoring (alerting) across security vulnerability application and scanning platforms
• Monitor system health, and process flows, escalating issues as needed (a daily cadence until the alerting is in place)
• Support operations project management tasks: tracking requirements, updating timelines, facilitating syncs, and ensuring deliverable follow-through
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes and documentation
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, compliance, and security teams

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree
• 2-4 years of experience in operations, DevOps, or automation engineering
• Proficient in Python and comfortable building and modifying automation workflows
• Experience with tools such as Git, JIRA, Confluence, and Power BI
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and communicate effectively across teams
• Attributes: Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to multitask and work under pressure. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Must be a U.S with an active secret clearance
