Customer Service Representative – Onsite/Hybrid (Phoenix, AZ)

Location: Phoenix, AZ
Schedule: Monday–Friday, with a rotating Saturday shift every 7 weeks
Pay: $15.05

Hours of Operation: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Training: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (onsite for approximately one month)
Employment Type: Contract-to-hire (onsite training with hybrid option post-proficiency)


Position Overview

This role involves extensive phone-based interaction with members and prescribers to support prescription processing and insurance verification. The Customer Service Representative is responsible for handling inbound and outbound calls, initiating and processing order requests, verifying coverage, and resolving payment or billing issues. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, performance-tracked environment and demonstrate strong communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.


Key Responsibilities

  • Handle a high volume of inbound and outbound calls to assist members and prescribers with order requests and inquiries.
  • Verify insurance coverage for new and existing patients, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date.
  • Research and resolve order, payment, or billing issues using systems such as Compass and LINKS.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with company policies.
  • Process transactions to complete mail order prescriptions in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Document and follow up on inquiries, notifying requestors of updates, decisions, or required next steps.
  • Support team goals and productivity standards while adhering to turnaround times and quality metrics.


Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year in customer service or call center environment
    • Experience in healthcare, pharmacy, or insurance industries
    • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party insurance is a plus
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a professional and empathetic phone manner
    • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
    • Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail
    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced setting
    • Familiarity with medical or insurance terminology


Work Environment

  • Training is conducted onsite in Phoenix, AZ.
  • After training and demonstrated proficiency, employees may transition to remote work.
  • Remote work requirements: Hardwired internet connection with minimum speeds of 25 Mbps download / 3 Mbps upload.
    • A screenshot of the speed test must be attached to the top of the resume.
  • Reliable personal transportation is required, as public transit does not stop directly at the facility.
