Customer Service Representative – Manufacturing (Order Management & Customer Operations)

Our client is an international manufacturing organisation operating in a fast-paced, high-mix environment, delivering high-reliability components and assemblies to customers across demanding industries. With a strong focus on quality, responsiveness, and customer satisfaction, the business is expanding its customer operations team.

 

They are now seeking a Customer Service Representative (CSR) to support order management, customer communication, and cross-functional coordination within a dynamic, engineered product environment.

 

The Opportunity

This is a key, customer-facing role at the centre of order management and internal operations. You will own the full order lifecycle, from initial inquiry and quotation through to order processing, delivery coordination, and follow-up.

 

Working closely with Sales, Engineering, Production, Quality, and Logistics, you will ensure customer requirements are accurately captured and delivered. The role requires strong coordination, attention to detail, and clear communication within a high-mix, engineered manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding pricing, availability, order status, and shipments
  • Process and manage customer orders, ensuring accuracy of specifications, quantities, pricing, and delivery requirements
  • Enter and maintain orders, quotations, and documentation within ERP systems
  • Monitor order progress and proactively communicate any delays or changes
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure customer requirements are clearly understood and executed
  • Maintain accurate customer records, documentation, and shipping information
  • Support contract review processes to ensure alignment with product specifications and internal capabilities
  • Interpret basic technical documentation (drawings, specifications) to validate order accuracy
  • Assist with resolving customer issues including returns, exchanges, and warranty-related queries
  • Support investigation of product or delivery issues in collaboration with Quality and Operations
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across customer service and order management processes

 

About You

  • 3–5 years’ experience in customer service, order management, or customer operations within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Experience working with ERP systems and order processing tools
  • Strong understanding of order lifecycle processes in a high-mix or engineered product environment
  • Ability to interpret basic technical documentation (drawings/specifications)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both customers and internal stakeholders
  • High attention to detail with strong organisational and follow-up capability
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal)
