About the Role:

The Construction Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing and directing construction projects within the utilities sector, ensuring that all activities align with regulatory standards and company objectives. This position is responsible for managing project timelines, budgets, and resources to deliver high-quality infrastructure that supports utility services. The manager will coordinate with engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution while maintaining safety and compliance. A key outcome of this role is the successful completion of construction projects that meet technical specifications and operational requirements. Ultimately, the Construction Manager ensures that projects contribute to the reliability and efficiency of utility services, supporting community needs and sustainable development.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing construction projects, preferably within the utilities sector.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations applicable to utility infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams effectively.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and regulatory compliance in construction environments.

Qualifications:

  • Professional certification such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or CCM (Certified Construction Manager).
  • Experience with utility-specific construction projects, including electrical, water, or gas infrastructure.
  • Advanced knowledge of project management software and construction technology tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in conflict resolution and team development.
  • Understanding of environmental regulations and sustainable construction practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and supervise all phases of construction projects from initiation to completion within the utilities industry.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Coordinate with engineers, contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with safety standards and legal requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Prepare and present detailed project reports, including risk assessments and mitigation strategies, to senior management and stakeholders.
